Why Have Family Meetings

Family Meetings are a great way to begin creating a team-like environment in your home. Think of family meetings sort of like a team meeting a coach might call for his or her team or an employee meeting for a business. Team meetings are an extremely important tool with any organization seeking a team approach to achieving its goals.

So what does a Family Meeting look like? If you’ve never held a formal Family Meeting before the thought of it might be a bit daunting. It’s really pretty simple though.

Family Meetings come in many shapes and sizes. They can be as informal as an engaged car ride on the way to a fishing hole or as formal as renting a cabin or a hotel meeting room on a weekend complete with an agenda, meeting times, family workbooks and requested preparation for feedback from family members on important family topics.
